You don't have to submit any page. Just get some links - the GoogleBot will find the site if there are links pointing to it. IF there aren't any links pointing to your site, then it's not worth submitting your site.

i wouldnt say thta you shouldnt submit your site to google. because that tells google to go and spider your site. then depending on how many links etc will depend on your PR and SE position

I never submit my sites. Google will find it and then will list it. Unless you have any links there is no point on getting spidered. You will be nowhere in the SERP's unless you have links, and google will find you through links - you get what I am saying? Instead of spending 5 mins submitting your site to google, you could spend that time doing a link exchange request - Which would be more worthwhile.

Same here - what I do is I simply post in forums like dev dreams which I believe gets spidered often. Google should pick up and follow the link.

Thats true but I always submit my new sites to google first then get loads of links then re-submit :D then I go to yahoo or somewhere and submit

I never submit my websites to Google. Just in case that old myth about getting indexed via links to your site giving you a ranking boost is true ;)
Naw, the real reason is that it allows me to spend less time on submitting and more time making keyword rich content.

But it is still a waste of time.
