Who owns google?

ive been wondering about this for a while. who actually owns google? is it microsoft?

if not then it must be some other major company.

Google is self owned.

It was started by two guys who went to stanford university as part of their course.

Obviously, things have changed since then. Google Filed for IPO last week - They are going to make it possible to buy shares.

Microsoft own MSN (obviously) who are due to release their own search facility in the next 18 months or so.

ahh rite. so currently msn is using googles results am i right? because im sure on the msn site somewhere ive seen "Powered By Google"

i heard yahoo was the most poular cause of geocities and and the messenger and also the games and chat.

it has more features than google but i much rather google.

i prefer google because all it is is a search engine. for example yaho has got loads of news etc on it. if i wanted news id go to a news site and if i want a search engine i use google.

Well I heard manyy people in WMF say so... But that was around the time they said thet Yahoo uses Googl'es results.. lol
So it may not be true now...

Same here, but loads of people are the opposite. They like everything in one place so they set Yahoo as their home and never go anywhere else...
