What do you need to know

I am trying to write some content for a new site that I am developing.

I need to know what SEO related things you guys would like to know about. That way I can write some answers to some questions.

It might take a while to post the answer but I will.

SEO is such a huge subject that It is not really practical for me to write a complete overview, as by the time I finish it in the detail I want, things will have all changed.

Yes, getting listed is important. But it is nowhere as important as having a well SEO'd site TO LIST.

SEO is Search Engine Opt. yeah?
So SEO is about getting your site to come up on the first page of a seach engines results or whatever....
Google ranks pages using the following:
. Link Popularity (Their Page rank...)
. Page Title
. Keyword Density
And since Yahoo uses Googles results if you have a lot of related sites with a high PR linking to you, a relevant page title and a keyword density of about 10% you should come up quite high on Google and yahoo searches... :) lol

ok i kinda worded my post wrong...

what im trying to say is that the main goal of SEO is to get high ranks in the search engines. yes the methods for doing this is important but the final goal is to get a high lisiting.

Yeah, basically that's it. There a hundreds of things that can influence a sites listing in the SE's along with what you mentioned there, but yeah, that's it.

BTW, Yahoo started producing it's own search results about a month ago

ye i was subscribed to this webmaster news thing a little while ago(until the spammed me) and in a newsletter it said that yahoo was now independant or something like that.

Yeah. There has been talk recently however, of Yahoo starting to use Google's results again.
