Ah yes I have heard of ChargerTek, my friend bought a reseller package from them they seem reasonable and good, though there uptime could be a little better.

I only ever use Elixant and Asmallorange.

Elixant because you get a free domain and the hosting is cheap, and asmallorange because they are also cheap and I was recommended by a friend to try them. Both have never let me down, and I would never even contemplate changing.

I haven't used any of these and I wouldn't recommend the one I'm using now, but I know people that have had success with both 1and1 and Dreamhost.

I've voted LunarPages but only because that is my current host. I've had a few problems but their customer service and technical support is very high and response times are quite fast.

I'd urge anyone that is thinking about using PurpleCloud to re-think. They spam customer account email addresses, ignore support tickets, do not support htaccess, have limits on how much MB their databases can hold (15mb max limit) and for what you get, their prices are extortion eeeek.

I made the unfortunate decision to pick GISOL for my web host last time. I still have 5 months prepaid with them, but my domain was down so frequently, I just wrote the remaining time off. And I thought I was making an informed decision when I picked them.

Since I signed up with hostgator I experienced fast servers, superb uptime and great support. My tickets (2 so far) have been answered within 5-20 minutes, and the staff was very nice and knowledgeable. Also their live chat is always online. HostGator I will never change you!

I've been using HG for a while now, 4 years and I would never use anyone else. As a matter of fact, a friend of mine owns his own hosting site and said I could use his for free, but I declined and stayed with HG!

Their support is amazing, friendly, and never make you feel ""stupid"" like some others. Even their forum members are EXTREMELY helpful when it comes to learning the ins and outs of this CPanel and hosting stuff. I have no complaints at all.

Addt'l Info: I'm on a shared server, using the ""baby"" plan, paying monthly.

I use GoDaddy because they can be pretty cheap. But that's where the fun ends. Their customer support is terrible, they charge for hosting after you've cancelled it, but the biggest turn off for me is the constant barrage of useless addons and extras they bombard you with when trying to buy a domain. It really does remind me of an arrogant American company who just think they are the best at everything they do and force their rubbish on you at every available opportunity! Im an experienced web developer and have used many hosting companies over the years, but GoDaddy have by far the worst user interface ive ever come across. It's extremely difficult to find what you want; the site design and layout is inconsistant and changes between pages, and I often leave in frustration after 15 minutes of trying to navigate their site because it's so confusing. Im so fed up with them, im actually in the process of moving the 300 domains we have registered with them over to a more user-friendly registrar. My bottom line is: don't use GoDaddy if you're a power user, you'll be crying in frustration!

I am always curious of what caused people to have poor reviews of GoDaddy. I have been with them, on dedicated servers and with 20+ domains and find they have been consistent and reliable.

Reliability-wise, in the past 4 years my server has been down, 2, maybe 3 times and one of these times for about 36 hours. So for the other 1400 days, it has been up.

When I call their sales or technical support, 19 out of 20 times what I call about gets taken care or, billed, explained, fixed, upgraded, etc. I find them to have consistent and very positive customer service - some of the best customer service out there. So I would have to wonder what issues some of the negative reviews are regarding.

On the rare occasion - very rare - that I did not get something taken care of, I have just called back and the next person resolved it.

The only thing I am not a huge fan of is their trouble ticket system. That is the only reason I could not go 5 for 5 on the customer support. I find their ticket system slow and hard to update. But if you call their technical support, they tend to be able to deal with most matters. And they respond to emails.

I would call their customer service and see what you think. I like 'em.

I use goDaddy hosting. It is so powerful and also cost effective. I also like to recommend one hosting service provider for those people who want to know about cheap hosting. Hostso is a cheap hosting provider, it gives hosting in just $1 p/m.
