Default Logo/Header For WebmasterPost Contest Has Begun!

The contest for the new header and logo for WebmasterPost.com is now open to all. The current design will be changed so the header should not be based on the current design of the header. The height of the header should be around 70px high and the width should be at least 779px.

I am open to any color choices, but the shade of blue that we use in the current skin will remain so the colors should match with this blue.

(hint: if you make a flash header, or animated gif to make like a moving logo you've got my vote though I can't speak for the Moderators. If you did use flash or the moving logo, then there is no need to use layers.)

The slogan is: Our Addiction of Choice is the Internet

The winner will need to provide the layered header image, and logo with a transparent background.

Besides the pride of your design being chosen and displayed for all to see, you will receive $150 USD via Paypal. Please post your entry here in this thread and the Moderators (who don't enter the contest) and I will be the judges. The contest starts today and ends August 18th. The Moderators and I will then review and vote and the winner will be chosen on August 19th.

Thank you and may the best Designer win!

A flash header would suck in my opinion, but that might be because I dislike flash.
Am I correct in assuming that as you require a layered version of the header, that it would need to be made with Adobe Photoshop, or an aditor which Photoshop can work with?
Though I'm probably the only anti-photoshop & pro-vector person here, it would be a good thing to point out for passers by.
I use Xara Xtreme by the way as I don't have to pay for it (and it's legal).

Most recent change: Theme support is up and running... So long as I use my theme resource loaders instead of that in the Rails plug-in.

You can attach images to posts but if needed you can always use http://imagehost.jslane.net unless there's going to be a one here

I have a question. Do we only get one entry? Or will you give us feedback and allow for changes to be made and resubmitted?

Submit as many as you like, I'd be happy to give you all feedback and I'd actually tell you all the same thing and here's what I'd say:

I really like some of these entries a lot. Even if nobody submits a flash or animated gif header, somebody here is going to win.

However, if I were submitting, I'd say to myself, "Hey self, nobody has yet submitted a flash or animated gif header, I bet if I did submit flash, it would give me a decided advantage."

And you'd be right. I've heard that using SWiSH or animated gif are easier ways to make flash, but I'm no designer.

I don't mean for the whole header to have movement, I'd like to see just the logo have movement. For example, that globe could slowly spin on Patrick’s Header. There could be a pen that writes "Post" on NameMaker's yellow Post It Note, then the word disappears, and then it writes it again, over and over. I'm looking for just a little movement, I hope that helps
